My husband and I stopped in for a relaxing glass of wine while meandering around the city on our honeymoon. Juan was very hospitable and provided us with impeccable service. He is most definitely a shining star in this organization. We'll most definitely be back! Thank you!

If you're staying at the Helmsley Park Lane, don't count on a nightcap at your hotel bar. We sat down and were greeted by an apathetic, unsmiling waiter. There was an accordion menu on the table advertising drink specials. One of us tried to order one of the specials and were told that they weren't serving three of the six drinks advertised. After the waiter practically dragged two wines over we were presented with a $51 bill. 20% gratuity was included on two glasses of wine served by the scowling, miserable waiter. It was an odd and unpleasant experience with an asinine tab. The decor was unoriginal and dull and I DO NOT recommend stopping in unless you have money to burn and a preference for unpleasant people.

If money is burning a hole in your pocket, this is the place to be. Mediocre beverages and just pathetic service. Not coming back. The bartender was slow, cold and aloof.

A lot like its Venice namesake: overpriced, living on its past glories and drafty in the winter. At least the Venice location has some history to recommend a visit, The servicehere is just okay. There is a cold and unwelcoming vibe to the place. I don't expect to be fawned over (much) but I do not appreciate feeling like I am imposing on the staff's time. Martini was a-okay though. Skip this unappealing, soulless joint and go to Sirio's in the Pierre Hotel (half a block away) instead.

worst experience I've ever had at a dining or bar establishment. for three mugs of hot water and Lipton tea bags (all they claimed they had) they charged us 23$ with included gratuity. unreasonable. avoid at all costs

The service was okay. Not friendly, but ok. The bartender made a mean Irish coffee....but I'm still confused as to how 4 irish coffees and an individual bottle of sparkling water was $90. NYC prices, what can ya do.

We arrived late and were looking for a quick bite in our neighborhood after having arrived on a flight from the West Coast. I ordered the French Onion Soup which was mediocre. The maitre d' was cold and unhelpful. Very unwelcoming and since we were four and the tables looked like they seated two, we asked if we could scoot two tables together and he was very much against this. He crammed us all around a teeny table where we balanced our food and drinks. Definitely felt like a welcome to New York.

This is one of the old woody great bars in the City located at the Helmsley Park Lake Hotel in Central Park South. The Drinks are well serve and the bartenders are friendly, professional and courteous. Some of them have been there for years. I am a scotch drinker but I hear the Bullshot and the Martinis are excellent there sooo what are you waiting to pay a visit and enjoy a drink? Cheers!

This is one of those small, expensive, wood-lined bars nestled within an old, upscale hotel that is trying to convey an image of class and luxury. Unfortunately, it fails to do so, except in the price of the drinks--$9 for a beer and $18 for martinis. The service was quite mediocre. The bartender forgot our drink order and needed one or another in our party of four to repeat their order twice. And even then, I got the wrong drink. The drinks were only okay. This isn't a bad little bar, it's just trying to be something it's not. It wants to be seen as something akin to the currently closed Oak Bar in the nearby Plaza Hotel, but this is merely a typical, expensive hotel bar.
